New CDC Guidance for Agriculture Workers and Employers

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and U.S. Department of Labor recently released a new set of guidance specific to farm employers and agricultural workers. Link to the new resource here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/guidance-agricultural-workers.html. Key topics addressed in the guidance include: exposure risk, assessment and planning, screening and monitoring workers, managing sick workers, return to work issues, control measures, housing, transportation, and children.

About a week earlier, New York State issued farm-specific guidance for COVID-19, see the previous post “State Guidance for Farms to Prevent/Respond to COVID-19” for details. State guidance takes precedence over federal guidance in most situations.

Remember to use these resources to develop your required farm business safety plan with support of Cornell resources.
